THE WYE VALLEY ARTS CENTRE - THE PERFECT ENVIRONMENT FOR TUTORED COURSES IN THE ARTS

The Wye Valley Arts Centre is located at the Hephzibah Gallery, a building of great character beautifully modernised and restored in the centre of the picturesque village of Llandogo in the Wye Valley on the border between Wales and Gloucestershire.

The inspiring environment and excellent studio facilities combine to make the Centre an ideal place for students to enjoy a wide range of courses in Painting , Drawing, Sculpture, Picture Framing, Lace making, Stained Glass, and China Restoration.

One day workshops, weekend and four day courses are available and for students who come from a distance we have a list of local places to stay in the village. Evening meals are served at nearby pubs and there are beautiful hotels in the next village of Tintern.

We also have regular weekly classes for local people.

We hope you will find an opportunity to come to the Wye Valley Arts Centre this year to enjoy our beautiful inspirational surroundings – the perfect creative environment.

Beginners and improvers are very welcome on all the courses as all will enjoy the individual attention which the tutors can give to small groups of students.

A typical day on a one of the weekend or 4 day courses would involve 6 hours tuition with morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea and begin at 9.30am and finish at 5.30pm. The cost is £60 per day. Although many of our students come from a distance now we are not residential we run weekly classes for local people on Friday mornings with Ann Hulme who is one of our local tutors. These are 3hour classes and a block of 10 classes costs £150.

We are also pleased to announce that there will be special one day Painting and Drawing workshops on Friday April 30 and Friday June 11 with Ann Hulme and the cost is £40.

One of the aims of the Centre is also to establish a Charitable Trust which will provide subsidized weekend workshops in Arts and Crafts for socially disadvantaged children, possibly in their last year at primary school just before starting secondary education. A percentage of any profits from the Arts Centre will be donated to this Trust.

We hope you will find an opportunity to come to The Wye Valley Arts Centre to enjoy our beautiful inspirational surroundings – the perfect creative environment.
